Weather

Costa Rica’s two seasons are the dry “summer” (verano) – January through April and rainy “winter”  (invierno) – May through December. In September we will definitely experience rain so it is recommend that you bring a light rain jacket or an umbrella in your luggage, especially if you plan to walk from your hotel to the convention center where the workshop will be held.

Costa Rica culture

Costa Rica is known as the happiest country on earth. This means that people are really friendly and many people have a very big heart to want to help you with anything you might need. One thing you will have to learn quickly is that we use the term “Pura Vida” a lot as a greeting or when somebody asks you how you are doing you can respond with “Pura Vida” which simply means you are doing well. The literal translation is “Pure life”. Costa Rica is known for its nature and many areas of the nation are nationally protected forests and has lots of flora and fauna. It is worth staying a few extra days if you can to go and explore the volcanoes, beaches, hot springs or rain forest.
